Featured in The Lakelander: A Look Inside Our “Courtyard Vibes” Project
We’re honored to be featured in The Lakelander’s June issue in a beautifully written article by RJ Walters that captures the heart behind one of our recent full-home renovations.
Titled “Functional Luxury”, the piece dives into the story of a well-known 1963 Lakeland home we were invited to reimagine mid-project—a challenge that turned into one of our favorite transformations to date.
The home’s unique courtyard layout inspired a layered, intentional design approach, from clean maple floors that let original woodwork shine, to bold wallpaper and fabric choices that reflect the homeowners’ personality. Every decision was made with livability and beauty in mind—what we call functional luxury.
One of the standout parts of the project? Designing inviting, practical spaces where a busy family with teenagers could gather, relax, and make memories together. As I shared in the article, “I design for you...I want it to be so you and your family that when someone walks in, they can feel and sense that it’s you.”
This feature was a joy, and we’re grateful to The Lakelander for telling this story. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to leave Polk County to create something truly elevated and personal.
