From Concept to Cover: Our Kitchen Featured on the Cover of Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine

A project often begins with a vision.

But between that first idea and the finished space are countless decisions — layers of material, proportion, architecture, function, and detail that gradually transform a concept into something real.

For our studio, this kitchen has always been a project that embodied that process. Seeing it featured on the cover of KBB | Kitchen & Bath Business makes the journey feel especially full circle.

Designing Beyond the Existing Footprint

This kitchen was a combination renovation and addition, which gave us something particularly valuable: the opportunity to rethink the space from the ground up.

Rather than designing around a predetermined footprint, we had the freedom to consider what the kitchen actually needed to be.

How should it function?

How should it connect to the surrounding spaces?

What dimensions would create the right sense of proportion?

Where could we create more opportunity rather than simply work within limitations?

That freedom allowed the design to become more intentional at every level.

Where Challenges Become Possibilities

Every renovation comes with its own set of challenges. Existing conditions, structural considerations, circulation, and the realities of construction all become part of the design conversation.

For this project, those challenges became opportunities to push the design further.

Instead of simply asking how to make the existing space work, we were able to ask a more important question:

What could this space become?

That shift in perspective shaped the project from the beginning.

Beauty With Purpose

The finished kitchen was designed to be beautiful, but beauty was never the only goal.

Every element needed to contribute to how the space would be experienced and used. The layout, proportions, materials, cabinetry, lighting, and details were all considered as part of one cohesive design.

That is ultimately what we believe makes a space feel elevated.

Not simply the individual elements, but the way they work together.
